Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Thor rework

In Marvel Rivals Season 2.5, Thor's Hammer Throw recovers Lightning Energy and is no longer a shared ability. This lets him cycle abilities faster and sustain Awakening Rune longer. He can also reposition with Storm Surge for flanks or the high ground and follow up with Hammer Throw and Awakening Rune for high damage.

This push for more Awakening Rune action also means increased poke damage from Thor, leading some players to question whether he's shifting more toward a Duelist role than a Vanguard one. Some folks in the community see this as a deliberate move by the developers, speculating that with heroes like The Hulk and The Thing already in the mix, they may be avoiding another short-range, punch-heavy Vanguard. Meanwhile, other players suggest adding two more short-range brawlers after Thor may not have been the best decision.

Thor's ability tweaks can be seen in the video below.

Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Jeff rework

According to NetEase Games, Jeff's balance update was initially incorrect but has since been fixed. His Joyful Splash is now faster and pierces targets. This means it heals allies and damages enemies. The change also speeds up his ultimate charge, which makes Sharknado combo with Storm more effective.

The community seems mixed about the Jeff update. Some folks see it as a good rework and cannot wait to play him while others think that this update turns Jeff into a "healer bot" who does ultimate farming in the backline by holding a button.

Jeff's ability tweaks can be seen in the video below.
